Health, Safety & Wellbeing

Understanding our Safety Culture / Group Health Safety & Wellbeing
As we embark upon the next stage of our safety improvement, our first step is understanding our safety culture.
The Networks Safety Culture Questionnaire is still live and only take 10 minutes to complete.
This will be followed by individual and group discussions to get a full picture of our current safety culture. You can find your link in an email from your Safety Support Manager and in this month’s Core Brief.
Please answer openly and honestly – we are really interested in your views on safety, what is working well, what is not working so well. This will help us gauge where we are now in safety. More information can be found on the Hub.
Thank you to those in G&WM & Innovation who completed the survey, focused discussions are starting in locations there next week and will continue into the New Year.

Jim Curran’s Retirment 15th December / Teresa Fallon
Jim Curran joined ESB on 30th October 1979 to take up a role with Distribution Department. That day was the start of a long and distinguished career with ESB and Electric Ireland while also taking a few years to see life outside ESB with International firm Glen Dimplex.
Building up a huge expertise in Energy Supply & Energy Services in both the Business and Residential area, Jim has supported many transformational initiatives including the Demand Side Management drive of the ’80/’90’s, to the deregulation of the electricity market and ending up being at the foundation of Smarter home developments in Electric Ireland. Jim has been described over the years as being “exceptionally talented”, “hardworking”, “enthusiastic”, and “helpful”. Those of us who have worked with Jim will appreciate his commitment and dedication to ESB over the years and will want to wish him a long and happy retirement.
Jim will be having a retirement night on 15th December in Clontarf Castle. All are welcome. Arrival at approx 6.30.
