Liberty Bell require Female Cyclists/Walkers based in D2&D3 for trial / Brian Gray
Liberty Bell are looking for female participants to give feedback on walking and cycling in Dublin City (WHY – Shaping the Future for A Safer City).

Currently only 25% of cyclists in Dublin are female.
Liberty Bell is a low cost, technical solution that simplifies the gathering and centralisation of qualitative data about the movement of bicyclists and pedestrians through a neighbourhood, campus, public amenity or access to different modes of transport.
We need to understand the issues that make people feel unsafe or be unsafe, makes them happy and comfortable while bicycling and walking. Understanding the issues is the first step in addressing the needs of cities to get more people out of cars and moving on foot or on bicycle.
Liberty Bell is currently gathering data on citizen’s perceptions of their experiences while walking and cycling in Dublin, in a programme sponsored by Dublin City Council. This data will be compiled and presented to Dublin City Council, as part of a Smart Dublin pilot. To ensure that the data presented includes diverse perspectives, it is important to represent the experience across the male / female population.

So far ESB has been involved in 2 phases of cycling trials, where largely male cyclists participated. We know that here in ESB, many females regularly walk or cycle in Dublin City. With this in mind, Liberty Bell are currently looking for;

*20 female cyclists to participate in gathering data while cycling. *20 females to participate in gathering data while walking.

Participants do not need to cycle or walk every day – but rather record issues during their normal daily life, for a period of 2 weeks.

Participants require a smart phone with data plan and if a cycling participant, will require their own bike.

To register your interest in participating in this trial, please RSVP to esb@libertybell.io with either WALKING or CYCLING in the subject line.
So if you are based in a D2 or D3 office and would like to give your input on your regular experience as a cyclist or walker, e-mail esb@libertybell.io to express your interest.
