ESB’s partnership with the Feis Ceoil Assocation was recognised on Monday night at the Allianz Business to Awards Awards, where EBS received the Best Long Term Sponsorship Award. The awards ceremony took place in the Convention Centre Dublin, and was attended by 500 guests from the business and arts communities.

In presenting the award, the judges highlighted the importance of the Feis Ceoil Association in the development of classical musical talent in Ireland, and the role that ESB’s sponsorship has played in helping to develop and expand its reach.

ESB Feis Ceoil occupies a unique position in Irish life. The first festival was held in 1896 and more than half a million competitors have taken part since. Past competitors include James Joyce and Count John McCormack as well as more contemporary names such as pianist John O’Conor, singer Regina Nathan and comedian Risteard Cooper.

An Post took home the best arts portfolio award 2015 for their investment in arts and cultural initiatives connected with the 1916 centenary celebrations, including the opening of the Witness History exhibition in the GPO. RTE was presented with a special 25th Anniversary Award which acknowledged their huge contribution to the arts over many years, including the ‘RTE Supporting the Arts’ programme and The Road to the Rising in 2016.
