Reminder of Retirement of Imelda o Toole
Description:
After 33 Years (give or take a break) Imelda O’Toole has decided to call it a day, and hang up her head set and answer Retirement call instead.
Imelda has worked in many different areas of ESB over the years Fleet St, Finglas, Head Office Fitzwilliam St and now Merrion Sq. The lady loves to travel!
Imelda would like all her colleagues, both past and present, to join her for a buzzing night on Friday 18th May.
In Foleys Bar Merrion Row [upstairs in the loft] The Wine will be Flowing and she promises to give us all an entertaining night of song and craic in typical Imelda style. Those who would like to contribute to Imelda’s retirement can contact:

BRIAN MADDEN RETIREMENT/LIAM BOLAND / LIAM BOLAND
Brian has decided to leave the building! Brian started in 1973 as an Apprentice based in Newtownsmyth, Galway. He worked in various locations , Service Repair Galway , Town Electrician Achill, On Call Electrician Claremorris and Tuam, Stations Supervisor Galway and presently Safety, ESB Renewables.
Brian served for 10 years on the National and North West Safety Committee. He is also a licenced Emergency Medical Technician and recently completed 50 years’ service with Red Cross. He has trained many ESB Staff over the years from Donegal – Waterford – Dublin in First Aid, Manual Handling, CPR and Defibrillator. Brian intends to continue with the Red Cross on Ambulance duties and teaching much to the delight and relief of Deirdre.
Brian and his family are holding a celebration on Friday 1st June at 08:30pm in The Menlo Park Hotel, Galway, and have asked me to extend their invitation to all his colleagues both past and present to come to share a good night.

Ian Ring’s Retirement – REMINDER / Robert Arthur
REMINDER – Function this Friday 18th May at 18:30.
Ian Ring of Asset Management Services is retiring on Friday 18th May 2018.
Having given 38 years of great service to ESB & ESB International and being the innovator of many great ideas and projects, my good friend, Ian Ring will retire on Friday 18th May 2018.
To mark Ian’s substantial contribution to the organisation through his friendship, fellowship and specialist advice he bestowed on those who have had the pleasure to work with and befriend him, a presentation with celebratory refreshments will be held in Doheny & Nesbitts on the evening of the 18th of May at 18:30.
It would be great to see as many of Ian’s friends, colleagues and retirees on the day to celebrate his retirement and to celebrate the start of this new and exciting chapter in his life. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Mick Sherlock is retiring / Maureen Ferguson
Having given 46 years of dedicated service to ESB & ESB International, Mick Sherlock will retire on Friday 8th June 2018.
Mick started his career as an apprentice in the Fleet Street depot in 1972. Mick subsequently moved into ESB Manpower as a Training Officer in 1983 and in 1990 he joined ESB International where he worked in the Electrical Power Systems area as a station designer. During the 1990’s Mick also worked abroad in many different countries providing knowledge transfer consultancy services to numerous international clients. As a station designer, Mick worked on EirGrid projects around the country. As his career progressed, Mick was appointed Senior Project Manager on EirGrid contracts. Mick was project manager on numerous high profile projects including Irishtown 220 kV GIS substation which included the construction of a new 220 kV cable from Carrickmines to Irishtown.
Due to his excellent project management skills, design experience and in-depth knowledge of EirGrid’s project delivery requirements, Mick was successfully appointed EirGrid Key Account Manager in 2006. Mick subsequently moved into the ESB Networks Key Account Manager role, before being appointed to his current role as Engineering Manager of the Asset Management Services (AMS) group in 2010. Mick has successfully managed the AMS specialist engineering group and took great pride in contributing to the ESB International SMT over the past number of years.
To mark Mick’s substantial contribution to the organisation a presentation will be made in ESB International’s Dublin Airport offices at 16:30 on Friday 8th June. The presentation will be followed by celebratory refreshments with Mick’s colleagues, family and friends in the Radisson Hotel at Dublin Airport.

Golfers in ESB – Final call for ESB Golf Society outing to Mount Wolseley. / Anthony McMackin
ESB Golf society’s captain’s weekend to Mount Wolseley is on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th May. You can play both days with dinner or just one of the days if you prefer.
This is a superb golf course and this will be a very sociable weekend with a scramble team event organised for Friday , followed by Captain’s prize on Saturday and dinner etc on the Saturday night. All of this for just €100 !! The full details of the weekend are as follows:-
Friday 25th 12:00 – 15:00 Team Competition. Teams of 4 playing a scramble. Each team will be representative, where possible, of a combination of handicaps and men/ladies.
Saturday 26th 09:30 – 14:00 Captain’s Prize. 18 hole stableford Singles. Play will be in fours. There will be men’s and ladies competitions. Saturday 26th 20:00 sharp. Dinner in Mount Wolseley
The cost for the full weekend is €100. For one days golf it is €40, for two days golf it is €75. For one days golf and dinner it is €70.
