Farewell & Thanks

Thanks from Joe Gavaghan on his recent retirement / Joe Gavaghan
I want to express my sincere thanks to colleagues past and present who made my time with ESB from 1979 to 2021 so enjoyable and rewarding.
I was astounded at the number of phone calls, text messages and emails that I received from colleagues in the lead up to my retirement last Friday 29th Jan and greatly appreciate every one of them. As always Antoinette came to the fore with balloons and bunting for the socially distanced gathering in Finglas canteen Friday morning.
I want to especially thank those who dialled in to the MS Teams call on Friday afternoon where it was great to see and hear colleagues past and present and reminisce insofar as a mediocre internet connection allows!! We will do it properly when the Covid-19 pandemic is under control.
The greatest surprise was seeing my family dialled in from their various homes including from another room in this house! I want to thank Brian, Edel and Mark for co-ordinating all this and making the retirement day as normal as possible. Finally I want to wish all my ESB friends and colleagues the very best inside and outside of work and look forward to seeing you in the not too distant future. Joe.

RIP
