Farewell & Thanks

Retirement of Michael “Haulie” Leamy / John Seale
On Friday October 8th Michael “ Haulie “ Leamy will retire after more that 47 years dedicated service. Michael’s career in ESB stretched from Transmission to Area Linesman, Security and finally Lifting and Handling Inspector. Michael found his home as Lifting and Handling Inspector where his many skills were put to excellent use. On behalf of all his colleagues we wish Michael and his family a long happy and healthy retirement.

Retirement of Siobhan Hand / Anne-Marie McDermott
After over 43 years of dedicated service, Siobhan Hand will be retiring from ESB on Thursday, 14th October 2021. Siobhan joined ESB and started her career in Cost and Management Unit, Chapel Street, Dundalk. She gained great experience right across ESB, through her work in Payroll Unit, Revenue Unit, Consumer’s Unit and most recently in Project and Fixed Asset Accounting. Siobhan was instrumental in the roll out of the new Cashier system to all Cash Desks. More recently, she was also involved with the introduction of SAP4 Hana, where she is an expert in all things SAP related.
Siobhan’s calmness, thoroughness and extensive knowledge have been invaluable, and she has made a noteworthy and positive contribution to the success of ESB. Her absolute persistence and doggedness when it came to tackling difficult queries has been much admired and appreciated by all her colleagues. She is a reliable source of advice, not just in work related matters but in personal matters as well.
Siobhan’s friendly personality has ensured that she made many good friends amongst staff (both past and present), right across ESB. (Indeed, she still remembers most of the staff numbers, although it’s been quite a while since she worked in Payroll). Siobhan will be missed by all, particularly her friends in Avenue Road, Dundalk but most especially, by those of us in the Project and Fixed Asset Accounting Unit.
On behalf of everyone, we wish to thank you Siobhan for the huge contribution you have given to ESB, over the course of your career. We will miss your calmness, your friendship, the chats, the recipe sharing, sound advice and not forgetting: the delivery of those Tommy Cooper One-Liners! We hope you enjoy the extra time to devote to your golf game, to pounding the pavements of Dundalk and of course, babysitting your four beloved Grand-Children. We wish you good health and happiness to enjoy every minute of your retirement with your husband Ciaran (Customer Solutions, Swift Square), your sons Niall, Fergal and Ronan, your grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, it is not possible to celebrate Siobhan’s retirement with her, in person, as we’d really like to do. However, we look forward to celebrating with Siobhan, later on, when we can give her the proper send-off that she so deserves. Very good luck to you Siobhan – we will really miss you.

RIP
