Farewell & Thanks

Michael Wroth is retiring / Enda Harrington
Michael Wroth is retiring to his workshop – his last day in ESB is this Friday 12th February! Michael spent the first part of his career in his native South Africa, where he worked in the rail, chemicals and defence industries. Michael made the big move to Ireland and joined ESB International in the summer of 2004, basing himself in the Eastgate Office, and delivering multiple projects for the Substation Design Group. He also became a card-carrying Corkman, even gracing the terraces of Turners Cross! He moved to the Physical Design Standards Team in 2012, where he has been an invaluable source of design advice to many designers and has contributed greatly to standards development. He will be missed by those who’ve worked with him, both for his professionalism and for the humour he brings to his work, and we wish him and his family well for the future. We hope to celebrate Michael’s retirement with an “in-person” event as soon as restrictions allow.
