Farewell & Thanks

Monty (Tony) Moore is retiring / Frank Murphy
After almost 43 years’ service to ESB, Monty has decided to call time on it and is retiring this Friday the 17th. Having joined the ESB in January 1979, Monty’s first assignment was on the cable crew in Waterford, where after a short time he was the chargehand of the crew. He then moved for a period to the ROIC in the Mall in Waterford where he entertained many people on the phone. Next up was a spell on NRP as a charge hand refurbishing network across the sunny south east. This then led Monty to a new role in ESB where he was the clerk of works with some of the first contractors to work on our networks.
Following this Monty took his first step in the supervisor ranks, where he has held several supervisory roles before finishing out his career as the Construction Supervisor in Clonmel. Anyone who has had the pleasure of working with or knowing Monty will know the character he is. He will be a loss to all of his colleagues and we would like to wish him every happiness in his retirement. Due to Covid restrictions it will not be possible to formally celebrate Monty’s retirement at this time, but we hope to do so in due course. If you wish to make contact with him over the coming weeks, he’d be delighted to hear from you. Thanks for all your service & enjoy the next chapter. Best wishes, Frank
