Farewell & Thanks
Miriam Coyne is retiring / Seamus Devine
After more than 40 years of outstanding service, Miriam Coyne, Business Support Team, Ennis has decided to call time on her ESB career and move on the next chapter of her life. Miriam will depart ESBN on 31st May. Miriam began her ESB career in Stephens Court, Dublin in 1980. Miriam met her husband Michael, while working in Dublin, but he was already based in Co Clare, so a move West was called for. Miriam got married in 1983 while still based in Dublin, and among the wedding good wishes was a telegram from her Supervisor in ESB that simply said “LIMERICK APPROVED” – It was the perfect wedding present! Miriam worked in Consumer Unit in Rosbrien for 3 years, before her dream move to Ennis in 1986. For the last 36 years, Miriam has been helping all our customers and staff in Clare, first in the shop in Carmody St, and from 2003 in Quin Rd Depot. Miriam is helpful and patient by nature. All the builders, and many of the customers in Clare knew that no matter what type of ESBN problem that had, they could go to Miriam, she would listen patiently, and without fail, Miriam would find a solution for them. With her expert knowledge of people and systems, she could often conjure up a solution, and provide another connection on time when all had seemed lost. Miriam’s helpful nature extended to all staff in Ennis and beyond. She provided advice and guidance to many staff, and all of us appreciated her patience and wisdom. She has always been willing to share her time and knowledge generously, to help her colleagues and improve their knowledge. Miriam originally hails from Carrigaholt and, despite all the years in Ennis, she remains firmly a West Clare girl at heart. We hope she now has much more time to enjoy time with her family, her traditional music, crafts, and her trips to Lahinch. Miriam will be hugely missed by all in Business Supports Central, and by everyone in Ennis. We would like to thank Miriam for her excellent work and commitment over the years and we wish Miriam and her husband Michael, health and happiness in all their future adventures. A retirement function for Miriam will be arranged later.
