Farewell & Thanks

Retirement of Brendan Sweeney / Denise Byrne
After 43 years’ service, Brendan has decided to swap his ESB hardhat for a bicycle helmet on a full-time basis.
Brendan arrived in ESB as an apprentice in 1978 and when the training wheels were removed, he worked across Sligo, Carrick on Shannon and Buncrana as a metering then Operations NT. However, I think everyone will know Brendan best for his various stints in IT Projects and his unenviable work then supporting these systems. Brendan has developed and sustained a reputation as an expert on all aspects DWMS, SAP, Click and especially Areas. No request was ever too small, and all were carried out with the perfectionism and professionalism that Brendan is renowned for.
He will be greatly missed by colleagues from across the business who have had the pleasure to deal with him throughout his ESB career.
