Retirement of Bernard O’Connell, CSS Tipperary / Ger Deenihan, Area Manager Mid West Division
After 43 years’ service Bernard O’Connell, CSS Tipperary / Thurles is retiring, boxing up his memorabilia and moving on.
After his Apprenticeship in Oct 1975, he joined Tommy Cunningham RIP in Limerick as a Cable jointer, progressing on then closer to home as an On-Call NT in Tipperary under Eric Rochford and then Jim O’Sullivan RIP.
In 2009, Bernard went on to become the CSS of Tipperary/Thurles, which later combined both Tipp and Newcastlewest, for a while before reverting back to just Tipperary.
Bernard’s love of ESB Antiques/Archives came to the fore when he set up the “museum” in the reception area of Tipperary office ( worth a visit ) and also his participation in a number of shows where his Antiquities can be seen.
Bernard is hosting his Retirement get together in Ballykisteen Hotel, Limerick Junct. Co. Tipperary E34 VK12 on 28th September 2018 at 8pm and all colleague’s /friends incl. partners and spouses are welcome. We wish Bernard, Peggy and family all the best in the future.
