Farewell & Thanks

Retirement of Ed Doran Design Team Arklow Enniscorthy/ Dan Mernagh
After 40 years of dedicated service in ESB Networks Ed has called time on an outstanding career which began in Enniscorthy in the overhead line section and is truly the end of an era. Ed worked in overhead lines section in the 80’s and travelled to England to assist with the repairs after hurricane Charlie which devastated a lot of the south of England at the time.
In the early 90’s Ed successfully applied for a Design EO position and has worked in every part of both Arklow and Enniscorthy giving excellent customer service to any person he encountered. One of the last major projects he completed was the Enniscorthy Bypass which was completed on time and within budget. Ed’s love of sport in the 90’s brought him around the world, and he became a lifelong member of the green army supporting the Irish team on both the European and World stage. He is also a keen supporter of his local Rapparees Starlight’s Club and played inter county football and was a Minor on the Wexford team in 1976.
Having enjoyed a varied and fulfilling career in ESB Networks Ed is looking forward to returning to travelling again when its safe to do so and Portugal will be his destination. He has spent a good deal of time over there which is now nearly his second home.
Ed’s last day is Friday 28th August 2020 and I am sure all the Staff in Arklow and Enniscorthy would like to wish Ed a long and happy retirement and post Covid-19 we will look forward to meeting up and celebrate his career in ESB Networks. Farewell and thanks
