I would like to thank all my friends and colleagues (past and present) across ESB for joining me in the Buccaneers Rugby Club, Athlone to celebrate my retirement from ESB last Friday 6th September. I was humbled and delighted by the large crowd that turned up on the night and a special word of thanks to those who travelled long distances.
Thanks also for the numerous phone calls, emails, text messages, cards and gifts wishing me well in my retirement from ESB.
Thanks to Audrey Patterson, on behalf of ESB and Willie Brady on behalf of the staff for their kind words and good wishes and for making the presentations. I would also like to thank my colleagues in Dublin and Garrycastle for the memorable send-off prior to Friday night.
I was very fortunate to have worked with wonderful people for over 40 years and I would like to thank you all as I leave ESB with many fond memories. As I look forward to a new life after my retirement, I will certainly miss the enjoyable time I have spent working with you all. Best wishes to everyone for good health and happiness for the future.
