Funeral arrangments for Jim O’Leary’s father /
The death has occurred of Flor O’LEARY
Montenotte, Cork

O’LEARY (Montenotte, Cork): On November 13, 2018, peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Bon Secours Hospital, Flor (late of Youghal Carpet Yarns), beloved husband of Anna and loving father of Jim, Carol, Sandra and Florence and adored grandfather of the late Alex.
Sadly missed by his loving wife and family, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sisters Sheila and Nora, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Lying in repose at the Mayfield Funeral Home, Old Youghal Road of Jerh. O’Connor Ltd. Rosary at 6.30pm on Thursday evening followed by removal to St. Joseph’s Church, Mayfield. Requiem Mass at 11.00am on Friday. Funeral afterwards to The Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to Down Syndrome Ireland. May he rest in peace

Engineers Ireland – Science (STEM) for Development and the Young Scientist Tanzania experience / Orla Burke Science (STEM) for Development and the Young Scientist Tanzania experience

on Thursday 22nd November from 6.30 pm at Engineers Ireland, 22 Clyde Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.

This presentation by Joseph Clowry and Dr Brendan Dogget will discuss the Young Scientist Tanzania which is aimed at Tanzanian secondary schools. This innovative programme is made up of two components, a Science Outreach Programme targeting all secondary schools in the region and the Annual YST Exhibition showcasing the success of the students in the outreach programme.
Joseph Clowry is a co-founder of this project and between 2009 and 2011, he put together all the elements needed to establish the project in the region. He gathered a team from academia, business and NGOs in Tanzania to support and drive the project. He secured funding and government approval to launch the project in 2011. Dr Brendan Doggett has been working with YST as the Senior Science Advisor for the Physical, Chemical, Technology, Engineering and Mathematical Sciences since 2011. He is also the Chair of YST Judges overseeing the judging process.

National Gallery of Ireland is inviting ESB employees to a preview of their upcoming exhibition, Canaletto and the Art of Venice, which opens on 5th December. The preview is organised for Tuesday 4th December from 13:00-14:00.

Retirement function for Francis Carroll, NT Navan / Fintan Cudden THE END OF AN ERA!!
After 44 years of dedicated service Francis has decided to hang up his multimeter and take a more leisurely role in life!!.
To mark this moment in history there will be a function held in his home town of Kells on Friday 16th November at 8pm. The venue is “The Courtyard” in the Headfort Arms Hotel.
