Retirement of Gerry Mooney, Senior Manager, ESB Networks / Denise Fannin
It is with a very unusual sense of joy, sadness, delight, disappointment, pride and even unknown that we will lose Gerry from the ESB family when he retires in the coming weeks.
A Stallworth within the Networks and ESB leadership teams, he has guided, influenced and changed the shape & direction of ESB, with a clear compass of seeking to do the right thing. Over the course of almost 40 years Gerry has come up trumps in times of need for the company, for all of us his colleagues and on many an occasion for individuals – the best of which may never be known about !
Although a Dub, Gerry travelled during his career and was to be found in Sligo as Regional Manager, on ESBI consultancy in Saudi Arabia & Ghana and indeed British Leyland before joining ESB.
This diversity in Gerry’s career wasn’t just geographic, and he is known for his successes in Organisational Transformation for Safety, Networks HR & IR Manager, Head Of HV Delivery & Contracting, and many other roles right back to his first role in ESB as Line Design Engineer in 1979.
Gerry is a close friend and colleague to many of us. We have enjoyed working with him, have learnt much in that time and wish him every happiness and success on his travels – be it route 66 on the bike or his new journeys in life.
Gerry would like to welcome his current and former colleagues and friends to his retirement function in The Waterloo Bar, Baggot Street Upper, Dublin 4, at 5:30pm on Thursday 20th December,
For those wishing to make a contribution to Gerry’s retirement presentation please contact Denise Fannin, Clanwilliam House, ext: 26632.
