Santa Claus is coming to town! / Aisling Delaney
It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas as ESB are turning on the Christmas lights in Dublin’s Merrion Square this week marking the beginning of Christmas for the residents and businesses on the square.
The annual ‘Christmas on the Square’ event is taking place this year in the Irish Architectural Archives, 45 Merrion Square on Saturday 1st of December and Santa, the Big Man in Red, has promised to stop by before he heads to the North Pole to get ready for Christmas.
He is looking forward to meeting all of the boys and girls on Saturday 1st December from 12pm to 2pm. His sack will be full of selection boxes and he will be wearing his best smile for all those special family photos.
Entrance to visit Santa is free and booking is not necessary, however, places may be limited.
This free event brings you the best of Irish design, craft, innovation, food, drink and culture. Come along to visit Mr. Claus and browse for that perfect Christmas gift for friends and family. The event will be open from 10am – 5pm but Santa will only be visiting from 12pm – 2pm.

Thank you from Francis Carroll / Fintan Cudden
I want to thank everyone I have worked with over the last 44 years. It has been a pleasure for me.
To all of you who sent messages, cards, phone calls, who contributed to the collection, a huge thank you.
For all of you who made it to the party, you made it such a special occasion that I will never forget. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.. I wish you all well for the future as I enter a new PHASE in my life. Francis.
