Death of Tonya McEvoy, Little Oaks childcare staff. /
Tonya McEvoy was killed yesterday in a tragic road accident whilst out cycling with her cycling club.
Many staff will fondly remember Tonya from her time working at Little Oaks Creche before it was closed. Some details of the incident can be found in the papers:

I wish to thank my friends and colleagues throughout the ESB for your support and kindness during the recent loss of my father Hans. Sincere thanks for your words of sympathy, texts, calls, emails and cards.

THE DEATH OF MARY CORBETT (MOTHER OF JOHN CORBETT NT KANTURK) /
Peacefully, in the loving and tender care of the doctors, matron, nurses and staff of Kanturk Community Hospital. Wife of the late Denis and beloved mother of Dan, John, Denis, Catherine, Timmy, David and Julie. Deeply regretted by her loving family, grandchildren, brother, sister, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing in Grace’s Funeral Home on Monday from 6.30pm followed by removal at 8pm to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kanturk. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St Patrick’s Cemetery, Kanturk. Family flowers please, donations in lieu to Kanturk Community Hospital.

Festival of Russian Culture 2017 (19th – 26th Feb) / Anthony Kelly
Vera Smyth from the Dublin City Arts office has been in touch and has shared with us the programme of events for the Festival of Russian Culture.
· Sunday – 19th -My Russian Ireland – exhibition of paintings by Swords Kids Club – Swords
· Monday 20th For Primary/Jnr School Children: 11.00 – 12.00 Fairy Tales without the Fairies – reading of Russian Fairy tales in English · Tues 21st in Harold’s Cross: 16.00 – 17.00 A Highlight
Russian Play and Tea Party for Children – traditions and customs with a cup of tea at the samavor – in the Russian Orthodox Church Harolds Cross. Tea time with pancakes and a Russian play in English is being organised especially for RIAG members on Tuesday 21st February at 4pm for one hour. This takes place in the Russian Church in Harold’s Cross Road. Sun 26th Family Day at the National Show Centre Swords…..an all day traditional Russian Family entertainment with music, dance, games, guest performers, crafts, food and other childrens events. We went to this last year and it was super.
