Farewell & Thanks

Dave Ledwith is retiring in October / Deirdre Arthur
After 44 years of dedicated service, Dave Ledwith will retire from ESB on Monday, 18th October. Dave joined ESB on 17th October 1977, starting his career as a Clerical Officer in Customer Accounting based in Head Office where he learned all about the customer. Dave’s first promotion brought him to Dublin North West District and his first stint in Clanwilliam in 1981, another promotion and another location move to Ballyfermot before heading to Fleet Street followed. In 1994, Dave joined GIA where he travelled the country’s highways and byways for 3 years before returning to Customer Supply, his natural abode in 1997, where is has remained in all its incarnations and locations until now.
It is safe to say that Dave has been the customer’s champion before it had a name, always having the customer at the centre has been Dave’s ethos throughout his career. There is nothing Dave doesn’t know or hasn’t experienced in the realm of price changes, meter readings and the machinations of this complex world, his vast experience and knowledge will be sorely missed.
Dave’s personality and loyalty has meant he made many good and long-standing friendships with staff (past and present), right across ESB. He will be missed by all, particularly former colleagues from Customer Supply and across Customer Solutions.
On behalf of all of us, we wish to thank you Dave for the tremendous contribution you have given ESB, over the course of your career. We will miss your good humour, sporting chats, and sound advice! We hope you enjoy the extra time to devote to your beloved Bohs, Deirdre, Conor, Aoife, and Baby Esme. We wish you good health and happiness to enjoy every minute of your retirement with your family and friends.
Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, it is not possible to celebrate Dave’s retirement with him, in person, as we’d really like to do. However, we will hold a virtual send off with Dave and his family to which you are all welcome to join (MS Teams details to follow) on 18th October at 3.30pm when we can give him the best possible send-off. Best of luck Dave!
