Farewell & Thanks

Fintan Hennessy is retiring at the end of August / Ted O’ Connell
Our friend and colleague Fintan Hennessy will retire at the end of August, after over 40 years of dedicated service to ESB. Fint joined ESB in 1977 and cut he teeth on the building of the 400kV line qualifying as a linesman in 1981, working in all areas of line construction. Taking leave of absence for 5 years he worked in Canada gaining valuable Live Line Experience. After returning to Ireland he was snapped up by the Line School where he trained live barehand & rubber glove live working. Since then he has willingly shared his expertise in the live line area with live crews around the country and was also seconded for consultancy work in far flung fields such as Poland, Russia, England & Scotland. Fint’s priority has always been the safety of the NT on the ground and has been involved in numerous problem solving developments to that end. Fint would like to invite his friends and colleagues from ESB to join him in celebrating his retirement on Thursday the 28th July at 19:00 for a lively session in The Welcome Inn, Portlaoise.
