Declan Sweeney is getting ready to retire / Francis O’Brien
Notice on Declan Sweeney’s upcoming Departure.
Declan is currently the Accounts Payable, Payment team manager, BSC – and after 27 years is retiring from ESB.
Prior to Declan’s current role, he worked in Coolkeragh, Finance Operations BSC and ESBI. In these roles Declan has delivered an excellent service to ESB and has made many friends and acquaintances. Between now and the end of September Declan will be taking a few days leave, however his big absence will commence from 1st of October.
Like myself, I am sure there are many out there who would like to make contact with Declan prior to his departure.

Retirement of Paul Hickey, Head of Systems and Sustainability, ESB Networks / Denise Fannin
After a very distinguished 39-year career in ESB, Paul is taking inspiration from his most recent role and making the ‘smart’ (boom boom) decision to retire. Paul started his career at the top end of the voltages when he joined Transmission Department and with that experience, worked in both TO(D) and also on a number of overseas assignments including Saudi Arabia and a year in Bahrain. Having conquered transmission, he then moved down the voltage tree and joined Distribution Dept. in Osprey House in 1990 and from there relocated as ESM to the West Region in Limerick in 1993. When he returned to Dublin in 1997, he took up a role as the Employee Relations Manager for Networks, before moving out of the capital again as Customer Services Manager for the South East. He then managed the PR3 process as Regulation and Commercial Manager before subsequently becoming the National Operations Manager. Paul took up his current position of Head of Systems and Sustainability in 2014, managing ESB Telecoms Services, the Networks Property portfolio, Metering and Data services and both Smart Networks and the Smart Metering project.

Paul would like to invite his current and former colleagues and many friends to a function to mark his retirement in The Epic Restaurant in The Grand Canal Hotel, Dublin 4 at 6.00pm on Thursday 21st September.
Anybody who would like to make a contribution to Paul’s retirement presentation should contact Denise Fannin on 5th Floor in Clanwilliam House (ext. 26632).
