ESTEEM / Aoife Gallagher
Are you a female working in an engineering role who has graduated within the last 15 years? Would you like to pass on your wisdom to the next generation of female engineers? If so we’d love to hear from you. We are looking for mentors to take part in DIT’s ESTEEM (Equality in Science and Technology by Engaged Educational Mentoring) programme.
The programme is based on female mentors from a number of companies (ARUP, Schneider, MasterCard, SAP and now ESB) sharing their career experience with female STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Maths) students in DIT. Each Mentor will be assigned 2 DIT students from level 7 and level 8 courses and the mentoring will take place in 5 structured, 2 hour lunch-time meetings over the academic year.
There is no time commitment required outside of the 5 lunchtime chats.
Mentor training will be provided by Engineers Ireland and the programme is fully endorsed and supported by Engineers Ireland.
We are looking for ESB female engineers to fill these mentor roles and take part in this worthwhile programme starting this month. Schedule and further details are attached.
For further details or to express your interest, please contact Aoife Gallagher, Technology Innovation Unit Aoife.Gallagher@esbi.ie

Sports & Social

ESB Athletic Club Halloween Social Run / ESB Athletic Club
The KBC Dublin Halloween Night Run is coming up on Tuesday, 23 October, and ESB AC will be using this race as a Club social run. There are two options, 5k or 10k, on a flat course at Sandymount, so something to suit everybody! It’s a good opportunity to meet up with fellow members for a run, or perhaps go for a PB, or even use it as a training run for the marathon that Sunday!
The run starts at 7:20 p.m. at Clanna Gael GAA club, well known to us from our Beach Race. It costs €15 to do the 5k and €20 for the 10k. You can register online on the Run Dublin website here: http://rundublin.com/race/dublin-halloween-run-5km-10km-sandymount/#race-info. Places are limited, so sign up quickly to avoid missing out!! After the race, we will head to Slattery’s for a well earned recovery drink!
