Hidden Pianos: Chords along the Canal October 12th and 13th /
Máire Carroll and Waterways Ireland present Hidden Pianos: Chords along the Canal on October 12th and October 13th, 2018.
The Hidden Pianos series is a new, intimate performance experience. The idea of collaboration is central to this series as we take the piano to places that are often forgotten, yet full of history and are bursting to be shared. For this exciting event, Máire is delighted to shine a musical light on Waterways Ireland through performance and discussion.
Join Máire as she embarks on a musical voyage where she will be transporting tales and tunes along the banks of Grand Canal. Her eclectic programme will include pieces from her debut album ROADS, musical favourites by Rodgers & Hammerstein, jazz inspired melodies by George Gershwin, dazzling Etudes by Academy Award winner Philip Glass, and many more.
There will be a complimentary drink at 7.30 p.m. with music starting at 8.00 p.m. on both performance nights. Venue: Waterways Ireland Visitor Centre, Grand Canal Quay, Dublin 2

Fundraising For The Friends of St Luke’s Cancer Care /
Maurice McCrohan (Husband of Noeleen Daniels retired Swift Square) is running the New York Marathon for St Lukes’ Radiation and Oncology Centre on 4th November 2018.
Noeleen was diagnosed with cancer in November 2017.She was treated successfully at St Lukes’ in Beaumont .The care she received was exceptional and to show our appreciation ,Maurice is running the New York Marathon 2018 .
All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause as none of us know when cancer will arrive at our door. see link attached. www.idonate.ie/MauriceMcCrohan

World Mental Health Day – 10th October / Health & Wellbeing
Did you know 10 October is World Mental Health Day?
It’s ok to not be ok. We all experience life’s storms – the day to day difficulties that are an ordinary, everyday part of life. Things like stress, grief, feeling down, worried or anxious.
There are some free, simple but proven steps that can protect our mental health, and guide us through a difficult time. Being active, talking about our problems and keeping connected to people around us can make all the difference.
Reach out today and connect with those around you. Little things can make a difference, so why not arrange something with your team / location and make time for mental health.
This year – Mental Health Ireland are promoting locally organised 5,000 Steps to Wellbeing. Why not join the challenge and run this event in your own location or community this October. Find out more about Walk to Wellbeing including how to request an information pack. Reminder that the closing date for entering a team into the ESB World Cup is today, Wednesday 10th October!
Our 5-a-side soccer Tournament (Panel of 8 players) takes place on Saturday 20th October at Sportsco, South Lotts Road with an entry fee of €160 per team. There are three competitions taking place on the day:
• Men’s competition @ 13:00
• Ladies @ 15:00
• Over 40’s men @ 15:00
Open to ESB Staff | Eirgrid | NIE | ESB partner staff who are in ESB full time.
Presentation of cups / after party (with food and some beverages) in Slatterys pub – a short walk from Sportsco
