Science Week @ Gateway / Mark Bennett
To launch our new ESB Steam Workshops supported by our Generation Tomorrow partner TechSpace, we are hosting workshops in Gateway as part of Science Week for schools from the wider community.
Over 550 children and their teachers will be in Gateway this week to take part in two different STEAM workshops.
Scribble Bot Workshops, led by ESB volunteers, will bring the engineering design process to life for the students. Those based in or visiting Gateway can expect to see lots of creative ESB Bots leaving the building between 10.30 and 1pm each day!
The Science of Music workshop will be delivered by physicist and percussionist Alex Petcu and will demonstrate the links between science and music. Students will create their own instruments through play and experimentation, will use those instruments in a performance setting, will learn about sound as a wave and much more. Alex will be supported each day by ESB graduate volunteers. Keep an eye out on the Hub for daily updates on how the schools are getting on.
