Tonight’s episode of Eco-Eye features ESB employees /
The next episode of Eco-Eye, to air at 7pm on RTÉ One, will examine dwindling salmon numbers on Irish rivers. As well as examining stocks on rivers such as the Nore, ESB facilitated filming at our salmon hatchery at Parteen. Part of the programme features discussion on barriers to fish migration on Irish rivers, including dams. The decline in salmon stocks on the Shannon is likely to feature prominently. ESB’s Fisheries Biologist Dr Dennis Doherty was interviewed as part of the programme to discuss ESB’s conservation work in the area. As part of the programme, the Eco-Eye team captured clips of ESB employees tagging salmon, as well as drone shots of the facility, when filming for the piece back in November.
Eco-Eye airs tonight (Tuesday 19th February) at 7pm on RTÉ One.
