Michael Carroll – Postponement of Retirement Celebration / Michael Carroll
A previous posting here invited my friends and colleagues to join me for a retirement celebration on Thursday 21st May. In the meantime, you’ll have noticed that our world has changed just a little! And while there may be some easing of restrictions soon, I don’t anticipate such social gatherings being feasible in the near future. Therefore, I’m following the lead of several of my influences – Leinster Rugby, Ireland, the All Blacks, Celtic, Leeds United, Jackson Browne, Suzanne Vega, The Killers and Ricky Gervais – and postponing my event for the time being! Mind you, while I’m departing in May I’m still hoping to celebrate with you later in the year and have made provisional plans in that regard … will keep you posted. Meanwhile, stay safe!
Retirement of Anthony McMackin, SAP Basis & Hub, IT Delivery/
After 42.5 years of service in the ESB, our colleague Anthony McMackin is retiring.
Although not formally retiring until June, this Friday 24th April marks his last working day as Manager of SAP Basis & Hub Team, IT Delivery.
Since Tony started with the ESB in 1977 he has made a significant contribution to the organisation, not only due to his undoubted technical expertise but also from his ability to develop & sustain strong relationships with all whom he encountered in the course of his work.
Those of us who have worked with Tony will appreciate his commitment and dedication to ESB over the years. Tony has been a colleague, and friend to many of us across ITD and offered significant support to both support, and project work over his career. We wish Tony a long and happy retirement.
Due the current circumstances, Tony has had to postpone his retirement celebrations but we look forward to celebrating with Tony at a later date.
