The death has occurred of Anne (Nan) Nevin, Mother of Seán Nevin, NTC Portlaoise.
At the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, after a very short illness. Late of Kilcormac and Belmont, Co Offaly and latterly in the loving care of the staff in Birr Community Nursing Unit. Predeceased by her loving husband Frank and much loved daughter Mary. Sadly missed by her son Sean, daughter-in-law Patsy, her grandchildren Claire, Mary and Fionnula, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and her large circle of friends. May Her Kind and Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.
Reposing at Boyd’s Funeral Home, Birr from 4pm to 6pm on Tuesday 23rd, with removal to the Church of the BVM, Kilcormac for 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 12 noon followed by Interment in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery. Our thoughts and prayers are with Seán and his family at this very sad time.
Eugene Bergin RIP (ex ESB International, EirGrid and Mott MacDonald) / Robert Donaghy
The death has occurred of our friend and former colleague Eugene Bergin, peacefully in the care of St. Francis Hospice, Raheny.
Funeral on Monday 22nd October to St. John the Baptist Church, Clontarf Road arriving for 10am Funeral Mass with cremation afterwards in Glasnevin Crematorium. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to St. Francis Hospice Raheny. House private.
Our thoughts are with his wife, Una, and all his family, friends and colleagues at this sad time.

Thursday 25th October 2018 from 6.30pm at Engineers Ireland, 22 Clyde Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.
This event involves two speakers providing their unique perspectives of developments in the Irish and international sectors in energy storage.
John Rafferty of ESB Innovation will discuss energy storage in Ireland and the UK, applications of storage and it benefits and challenges, the journey of battery storage as well as its future.
Liam Breathnach of Solo Energy, will discuss their FlexiGrid software platform, how it works and how they are incorporating blockchain P2P energy trading functionality into the platform.

Brian Matthews walk – THANK YOU! /
On Friday October 19th a number of Brian Matthews (ex-Telecom Services, ESB Networks) colleagues accompanied by members of Brian’s family left Clanwilliam House on a walk to the red light house, Poolbeg to remember Brian.
In addition to the walk a collection was undertaken for the team in Louth Specialist Palliative Care Services and the fantastic total of €1,350 was raised.
Thank you to everyone who attended on Friday or who contributed to this very worthwhile service.

Retirement of Seamus Carroll NT Clonmel / Tony Moore
After almost 37 years of service Seamie has decided to hang up his climbers and his rubber gloves. A retirement function will be held in the back room of O’Ceallachains Main Street Carrick on Suir on Saturday 3rd November @8.30.pm to mark this special occasion. All are welcome.
