On behalf of my family and in particular my brother Denis and myself, I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful support we have received from people at ESB since the recent passing of our mother Bridie.

Events & Launches

Safe Driving: RSA Shuttle in Clanwilliam and South Lotts Road / Lenny Walsh
The RSA Shuttle Bus and Vehicle Rollover simulator will be in South Lotts Road depot on Friday, 28th September from 9am to 4pm.
This gives you a chance to experience what it feels like in a car that flips over, as well as using VR goggles to experience the huge risk behind things like drunk driving and getting distracted.
There will be competitions on the day, and refreshments during the overview (cakes, scones, donuts, fruit, tea/coffee). Pat Fenlon (ESB Finance Director and Road Safety Sponsor), Peter Lambe (ESB Road Safety Bureau) and Dave Richardson (Divisional Manager, Dublin South) will kick this off in South Lotts at 8:30am in Conference room 1, and then again at 10am in the Canteen on the 4th Floor of Clanwilliam. Please come along and learn more about Safe Driving.

Rebecca Keane is heading to Vietnam in March 2019 as part of the Operation Walk Ireland team. Any donations would be much appreciated.
Operation Walk Ireland provides hip and knee replacements for people with advanced arthritis in developing countries. Operation Walk Ireland is at ground level working to educate Vietnamese surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and physiotherapists in Vietnam about joint replacement. Thank you to all who supported our Coffee Morning in aid of St. Francis Hospice / Ann-Marie Wallis
A big thank you to everyone who donated and brought in goodies for the Wind O&M coffee morning, held last Thursday 20th of September in aid of St. Francis Hospice. We raised €461.15, which goes directly to St. Francis Hospice and the wonderful work they do in the community. If you’d like to donate, please visit www.sfh.ie.
We also dropped cakes, biscuits and other goodies to the Inner City Helping Homeless Group, based in Amiens Street on Thursday evening. ICHH provide outreach and advocacy services for homeless people across Dublin city. Please visit www.ichh.ie for more information.
All in all, it was a very successful event and once again, thank you for your generous contributions and support.

Learning Events

Disability Awareness Training / Niall O’Hanlon
I have a number of places available on ‘Disability Awareness Training’ for any staff member who is interested.
This is very worthwhile training as it aims to raise awareness of disability issues in the workplace and address the concerns and misconceptions that staff may have about working with people with disabilities.
The Training is a morning only session: Monday, 1st October 2018 – 9am to 1pm (Gateway)
If you are interested please let me know as soon as possible. I can probably accommodate approx. 12 to 15 per session and I have 3 or 4 places left. Regards
Niall O’Hanlon
Access Officer
