Death of Denis Peter Tangney, retired staff Castleisland & Tralee / Ger Deenihan The death has occurred of our former colleague, Denis Tangney.
Reposing at Tangney’s Funeral Home, Castleisland, on Monday evening from 5pm to 7pm followed by removal to Castleisland Parish Church. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am, Burial afterwards in St. John’s Cemetery, Castleisland. Our sympathies and prayers are with his family at this difficult time. Ar dheis Dé go raiby a h’anam.
Death of Mary Anne Mooney-mother in law of Joe Rogers / Ursula Moylan
We were saddened to learn of the death of Mary Anne Mooney, mother in law of our friend and former colleague Joe Rogers. Reposing at her residence, Leitrim, Dring, Co. Longford today Monday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. with removal to St. Columba’s Church, Mullinalaghta arriving at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with burial immediately afterwards in local cemetery. Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe, Pauline, and their family at this sad time. May She Rest In Peace.

It is with deep regret I advise the Death of Norma Ludden Clonminham rd, Portlaoise, Laois. Deeply regretted by her loving brother Gerard, nephews Brendan, Fergus and niece Tracy and sister in law Eileen, relatives and friends and former colleagues in the ESB. May she rest in peace. Philomena (Phyllis) Casey (RIP), Mother of Tony Casey, Fleet & Equipment, Limerick / Sandra Carney
The death has occurred of Philomena (Phyllis) CASEY (née Byrne) Limerick City, Limerick mother of Tony Casey, Fleet and Equipment, ESB, Rosbrien, Limerick. Phyllis died peacefully at St. Paul’s Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Paddy & dearest mother of Tony, Noreen & the late Pat. Deeply regretted by her loving children, daughters-in-law Majella & Mary, son-in-law Eamon, sister Ita, grandsons Andrew, Alan, Eoin, Stephen, Glen & Dean, nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Tuesday (July 31st) from 5pm. Removal at 6pm to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Janesboro. Requiem Mass on Wednesday (Aug. 1st) at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Mount St. Lawrence (Ext.) Cemetery. Our thoughts are with Tony and his family at this sad time. May She Rest In Peace.

I wish to thank all who attended my recent retirement function in particular those who travelled long distances. Thanks to Neil McGuinness, Seamus Gray and Annette Moloney for their kind words and for the presentations on behalf of ESB and colleagues. My family and I enjoyed the night and it was a great pleasure to catch up with so many current and former colleagues. I also wish to thank all those who emailed, phoned, texted or sent cards and gifts. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and kindness to me. Thanks also to my colleagues in Rosbrien, Networks Procurement and the CPO Team for the great ‘send-off’ they gave me. The forty years went by very quickly and I had the great pleasure in working with many wonderful people across ESB over the years. I wish you and your families all the best for the future and hope that the ESB will be a strong company still in forty years’ time.

Cash for Clubs is back and I am trying to get enough points for my Badminton Club. If you have a Play & Park loyalty card you can register it to Julianstown Badminton Club, or send me the loyalty card number and I can get it registered. Alternatively if you don’t have a loyalty card you can send me your receipt or picture of receipt for fuel (via internal post, email, text, whatsapp!) within 7 days of purchase and I can get the points added. We have 57 tokens to date we need 500 to enter the draw by the 19th August so we have a bit of a way to go! Thanks in advance for your help!
