People Leaving

Thank you from Derek Ball /
On my recent departure:
As some of you may know, I recently retired from ESB Electric Ireland after almost 47 very happy years and I leave with nothing but wonderful memories of working with such great people in a company I will always be so very proud to say I worked for.
I want to send a huge thank you for the wonderful send off and retirement party that was organised and also the great surprise of the video specially arranged for the night!
Thank you to each and every one who came along on the night and who had travelled some distances to be there. I hope you all enjoyed meeting friends and had fun. Thank you all for the all the good wishes, cards, the lovely kind presents, phone calls, e-mails and the fantastic collection arranged for me and not forgetting the big screen showing of photos from 1971 to-date of my times in ESB!! My God, the years haven’t been too kind to me!!!
It was a night I and my family will never ever forget. As I look forward in so many different ways to the next phase of my life (don’t like that word retirement!) I WILL miss the wonderful times I have spent with you all.
On behalf of myself and Anne and family, a sincere thank you and I wish each and every one of you the very best in the future. However; please do keep in touch … I would genuinely love to hear from you and definitely meet up again and see ya soon!! Cheers and kind regards ….. FORE!!!!

ESB Cricket Team – made it to the FINALS in Webster Cup / Baajeerao Dabhade
On the great Irish Summer Tuesday evening ESB cricket team has clinched the nerve wrecking victory against Air Corps to make it to the Webster Cup Finals. We were asked to field first by the opposition. Boys bowled really well to restrict Air Corps to 103 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs with the pick on the bowlers Vishal Chavan who took 3 wickets and bowled brilliantly and supported by other bowlers Vikas Bhagaur, Vineeth Pilli, Navneeth Sengar with some great catch by Nicholas Langford in the deep cover with sun glasses on. In response we started really well at the top Baajeerao Dabhade 19 runs and good knock by Killian Morgan 18 runs supported by Rahmat in the middle order. Then we struggled a bit once the top & middle order went off ,we lost 8 wickets in the meantime. But with around 2 overs to spare Nicholas Langford & Harshit Jain got us above the line and clinched the very much needed victory in style by hitting a boundary to make it to the Finals. Well done Cricket ESB.
The FINAL is scheduled on the August Bank Holiday Monday in the Phoenix Park. All are welcome to support us in defending the Trophy.
