People Leaving

Farewell from Michael McGrath on his retirement / Michael McGrath
Today is my final day as an employee of ESB Networks. Tomorrow I go to join the ranks of all the pensioners who went before me. I would just like to say thank you to all the colleagues I have had the good luck and fortune to work with in the last 40 years. This is not how I would have chosen to leave but I am just thankful I made it this far. Onwards to Woodies. Good luck and stay safe.
Retirement of Teresa Cosgrove / Bernie Lennon
Teresa Cosgrove is retiring and will be finishing up on Thursday May 28th. Teresa began her career in ESB Athlone in 1972 in the Typists office and progressed to Supervisor of typists. Teresa took a career break and returned to work in 1995 as Secretary to the District Manager and as clerical support for the Eo’s. ln 2004 Teresa joined the Network Services Bureau which is now The Customer Experience Team. Throughout her career Teresa has made a significant contribution to ESB, with her extensive knowledge and expertise in Customer Service and New Connections.
Teresa had planned a joint function but due to Covid-19 this was cancelled and hopefully this will be held later. She will be missed by all her colleagues and we wish Teresa a long and healthy retirement. Teresa will now have more time to spend on her hobbies, family and friends.

Today is Tom O’Dwyer’s last day in ESB / John Considine
Tuesday 19th May is Tom O’Dwyer’s last working day, bringing to a close a career of 49 (and a half) years of committed service to ESB. Tom has worked in Rosbrien with HV stations Limerick for almost all of this time. He has made a valuable contribution to many projects – to the construction of the first 400kv GIS at Moneypoint, Tullabrack 110kv station, refurbishment of 38kv stations including Roscrea, Scariff, Moylish and Ardnacrusha, as well as carrying out maintenance programmes in the Limerick HV Region. Tom was also a capable and conscientious operator, with a huge understanding of, and commitment to safety. Throughout his working career, Tom has displayed great qualities of competence, loyalty and decency. He has been a friend to all, and a support to many. This has been especially apparent in how he has cared for the welfare and development of apprentices in his own unassuming way. Tom has been a valued and trusted work colleague to all in HV stations for many years, and enjoys the respect and affection of all his work colleagues in Rosbrien. Now that the curtain has come down on Tom’s ESB career, all his colleagues wish Tom, Marie and family health, happiness and good fortune for a well- deserved retirement . Due to current restrictions, we are unable to give Tom the send-off he deserves, but hope to do so at some time in the near future.
