Health, Safety & Wellbeing
Do you want to participate in the RSA Junior Infants High Visibility Vest delivery programme?
ESB Networks is proud to once again partner with the Road Safety Authority (RSA) to promote road safety amongst young road users and their families. Together with the RSA, ESB Networks will distribute high visibility vests and safety information packs to all Junior Infant students starting Primary School this September.
ESB Networks is very proud of this initiative and see it as a highly valuable opportunity to promote road safety awareness among our young road users, their families and communities. To date, this partnership has provided high visibility vests to 800,000 Primary School children throughout Ireland.
This is a very important initiative for ESB Networks as the partnership with the RSA aligns with our on-going commitment to public safety and is part of our wider safety program for children which includes our “Stay Safe, Stay Clear” safety communications campaign. Also for Primary School students, this highly engaging programme aims to educate children about how to stay safe when they are playing outdoors near the electricity network. So how can you get involved?
ESB Networks would like to give employees the opportunity to visit and deliver high visibility vests to the Junior Infant students of their old school, local school or their children or grandchildren’s school.
Employees can also give a short talk on our Stay Safe, Stay Clear message – if you wish to do so, we will provide the information and resources that you can use on the day.
Should you wish, we can arrange for photographs to be taken of your visit which can be shared with the school and local media in the schools area.
To get involved, please complete the form available here, being sure to provide all the required information. (You may need to contact the school to confirm some of this information.
Please note the deadline for registering your interest is 5pm on Friday June 29th.

Sports & Social
ESB Cricket Club off to a winning start / Brian Gray
ESB cricket club made a successful start to their defence of the Willy Webster Cup, with a competitive win over AIB on Thursday evening last.
A glorious sun soaked Phoenix Park welcomed us for our first competitive outing of the season. Having won the toss, ESB batted first, with opening pair, Bajee and Navneet eager to dominate the bowling. A furious start saw 37 scored off the first 4 overs, before AIB fought back with 2 quick wickets to slow the run rate. Navneet (34), Vikas (26 and Ramhat (29) were the pick of the batsmen, as ESB went on to make 144-7 off the allotted 20 overs. With the evening closing in, AIB took to the crease, needing a quick start to stay with the run rate required. Vineet and Harshit opened the bowling with some fantastic pace, line and length, that had AIB struggling early at 16-3 off 6 overs. A change in the bowling saw the AIB 6th wicket partnership steady the ship, scoring 61, but the rate was never quick enough to threaten the 145 target set by ESB earlier. AIB finished out their 20 overs on 108-6, 27 runs shy of their target. A great allround performance from theESB team with the bat, ball and in the field. Pick of the bowlers was Vineet with 3-12 from his 5 over allocation. Great weather for cricket, bring on the next opponent
